Staying at The Roberta Barr is a one of a kind Colorado experience. Named for the woman who owned the property for 75 years, The Roberta Barr includes a beautifully restored historic 1937 log cabin. The Joshua Cabin is furnished with the utmost regard to quality, taste & detail & includes a king sized bed.

From April through October, the property also includes the Honey House glamping barn (king sized bed) & the Sleeping Ute Tipi (queen).

The 7-acre park-like setting includes manicured as well as natural areas. The property is bordered by 1/3 mile of Hermosa Creek & boasts a good sized trout pond. There are over 100 fruit trees throughout the property including cherry, apple, pear, peach, plum, apricot & a large raspberry patch. Roberta's rose & perennial flower gardens have been considered the finest in the Animas Valley & we have continued her legacy.

Owners Alice & Eric Foultz are long-time 2nd homeowners in Durango. During bicycle rides they would visit with Roberta, who in her late 90's would sit on her front porch & say hello to those walking or biking past her historic rose & perennial flower gardens. Sensing how special this property was naturally & emotionally to those in the community, Alice & Eric purchased the property in 2014 making a commitment to restore it to its former glory.

We are honored that our purchase of this property helped fund the largest cash gift ever to Fort Lewis College in Durango by Roberta's estate. She attended Fort Lewis, was a school teacher & principal in Durango for many years & her estate endowed teacher scholarships at "The Fort."
